Our Stainless Steel Boil Braid Hop Strainer is the ultimate strainer for home brewing! The Boil Braid Strainer when stretched out, measures out at 24 in length, and has 1/2 male pipe threads on both ends for easy removal and cleaning. It comes with a 1/2 90° Stainless street elbow as well as a 1/2 Stainless cap. The Strainer is completely constructed out of braided stainless steel, and is also TIG welded together to the male fittings at both ends, unlike other Screen type strainers that simply use gear clamps to secure the screen to the fittings.The boil braid strainer works by threading and installing into the inside of your boil kettle or mash tun via a dual sided 1/2 Female coupler, such as what comes standard TIG welded onto our kettles. On other kettle/cooler combination applications, a weldless bulkhead connector can be installed as long as it has 1/2 female threads on the inside of the vessel. The strainer works great with either whole hops or pellets. However, if using only pellets, a strong whirlpool should be started and allowed to settle out first before draining. It is also helpful in general to scoop out the bulk of the hops with a strainer and remove from the kettle before whirlpooling and allowing the scooped out portion hops to then drip back into the boil kettle. Doing this will help boost your brewing efficiency and eliminate clogging issues.
