Set of 7 tall champagne coupes by the great Kosta Boda of Sweden. Beautifully shaped bowl is a festival of overlapping laurel draped from blooms. Band of glossy concave ovals adorn the rim. Gorgeous when viewed from above or from the side. The stem which holds the bowl aloft has six sides which terminate at a faceted knop. The underside of the foot has been cut not in the traditional starburst, but in a sputnik-style star. The amount of skill required to craft this feat of glassmaking cannot be understated. So much attention to detail- the combination of polished and satin cuts play with the light and create a mass of tiny prisms. Glasses are pure works of art. For those who enjoy champagne-gazing, you can find no finer vessel.
