This is an antique Moss Rose Porcelaine Opaque hot water pitcher or jug made by I. Davis. Patent date April 30 1881. The pitcher stands 7 inches tall with a 5.5 inch diameter. There is a very fine hairline on the rim and a 3 inch crease on the floor of the inside of the pitcher that probably occurred during firing. The Moss Rose design appears to be transferware with one large image on either side of the pitcher and a smaller image on the front. This Moss Rose pattern includes small blue flowers which I always love. There is gold trim around the rim, neck and base as well as the handle showing some loss. There are no chips or signs of repair. There is very fine crazing thru out. A nice older piece that displays well. Height: 7" Diameter: 6" Rim Diameter: 3.75" SKU E1683 10.10.10 1/15
