Our convenient shrink bags are a fast, no-hassle, and secure way to prepare dressed poultry or small game for your freezer. Simply place the item in the bag, give it a dip in hot water, and the bag shrinks to form a tight fit that will protect the contents for up to a year in the freezer. The clear, glossy bags have rounded bottoms to ensure a perfect fit, and they give the birds or game a tidy, professional appearance. Set of 40 shrink bags and zip ties. Choice of two sizes: 10" x 18" (for chickens or game up to 7 lbs.) and 13" x 18" (for chickens or game up to 11 lbs.). How to use: Add water to a Poultry Scalder or a pot large enough to accommodate your bird without water spillage when dunked. Heat water to 185-190° F. Open bag and put chicken inside, wings end in first. Squeeze out as much air as possible. Place a straw in the cavity of the bird so the end of the straw sticks out of the bag. Twist end of bag and use zip tie to secure. (If you are not using a straw, you can poke a small hole in the bag at the top of the breast after the zip tie is tightened.) This allows air to escape. Submerge in heated water for about 5 seconds. Remove straw, if used, and cinch zip tie as tightly as possible. If you poked a hole, cover the hole with a piece of tape. Trim the end of the bag and the zip tie. Label with contents and date.
