Vtg Electric Percolator, Working, Samson Porcelain, Hand Painted Buttercream W/ Red Flowers, Vintage 30s 40s.

I normally try to stay out of any decade earlier than the 40s and later than the 70s but every now and then I come across something that is outside my sweet-spot that needs to be had and presented to you. With that in mind, I am pleased to offer you this wonderful Samson hand-painted porcelain.

With that in mind, I am pleased to offer you this wonderful Samson hand-painted porcelain electric percolator. The exterior is in a creamy pale butter yellow with hand painted green vines with orange flowers. The percolator is trimmed out in stainless steel at the base, the lid w/glass percolator window, and the seating ring where the lid is mounted to the pot. The interior components are clean and complete – made of aluminum. The original power cord, although working, is well past its prime. Sending it along for “ole’ time’s sake” as well a newer replacement cord. The percolator is in great working condition – truly a Cinderella story – dirty and grimy when found and beautiful thanks to its oxyclean fairy godmother. The spout has a manufacturing flaw that I am afraid to deal with…observe the chips of orange / red paint on the spout – this appears to be remnants of what was hand painted flowers however they are on the top of the clear glaze so they have no protection. I do not have the appropriate chemicals or bravery to attempt to remove them – the remnants do not impact the beauty or functionality of the percolator just something I personally find annoying so not really necessary to remove them but wanted to make sure I pointed them out to you. The percolator measures 12in. tall x 10in w (spout to handle) x 5in. dia. base and holds approx. 4 cups. A side benefit to using this type of coffee maker is that there is no need for coffee filters and the coffee grounds are a great way to add natural nutrients to you potted plants and outdoor gardens - just mix in with the soil or use like a mulch! The black power cord measures approx. 30in. from end to end Keep in mind this is an “old-school” percolator – there is no timer or on/off switch – plugged-in (on) / un-plugged (off) is the power switch. There is no setting for strength – YOU are the setting – strength of the coffee is determined by how long it perks and how much and type of coffee grounds used.
