In 1960, Jackie Kennedy appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated (!) wearing a Marimekko shift she purchased at the edgy Design Research Store in Cambridge Mass. Unikko, still in print today, was originally designed in 1964, at the beginning of the hippie-floral era, and still has a slightly retro yet timeless appeal.
