Vintage mason jar with a screw top and a glass cap - these are less common than ones with either a screw top made of metal or with the glass top that is sealed with a wire. The mason jar is made by Gem and was made in Canada - this type was simply called "New". The glass cap was made by Jewel, also a Canadian company. Excellent condition and an eye catching collectible - the word "Gem" is written in cursive and looks amazing. Great for storage and/or display! The jar measures 9 3/8 inches tall to the top of the glass lid and 4 1/4 inches across at the bottom. As mentioned above, this one is in excellent condition and has held up very well. There are light scuffs and scratches on the sides and one rough spot right above the bottom rim - I thought it was a chip at first but I think it's actually a bubble in the glass that was close to the outer surface and created a small (1/2 inch) indent - it is hard to see and does not go all the way through to the inside. There are some small white stains around the threads at the top. The lid and the glass cap look fantastic - some light scratches and weathering but nothing major.
