We suggest using a heavy wood rod or branch under the handle with a person on either side to move it into place when empty only. The lid alone weighs 100 pounds.Measuring 28 inches tall (kettle is 25 inches deep), the legs on this kettle are 7 1/2 inches long lifting the bottom of the pot about 6 inches off the ground when it is set over a fire. It is perfect for reenactment groups that want to cook over an open fire or for a camping trip with a lot of friends and family.
